Dr. Phil Ayers

Phil Ayers, BS, PharmD, BCNSP, FASHP

Dr. Ayers received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Ayers is currently employed by Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He is a clinical specialist in nutrition support and serves the Department of Pharmacy as Chief of Clinical Pharmacy Services. Dr. Ayers is a Clinical Associate Professor with the School of Pharmacy, University of Mississippi.

Dr. Ayers is board certified in nutrition support and has published in the areas of parenteral nutrition, fluid-electrolyte management and acid-base balance. Phil leads a Clinical Pharmacy Department with patient care services including anticoagulation, antimicrobial stewardship, critical care, diabetes, nutrition support and pharmacokinetics. These services have been recognized for excellence at the state level and the Diabetes Management Team received the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Best Practice Award in 2012.

Kathryn Ayers

Kathryn Ayers is licensed to practice pharmacy in Mississippi and Tennessee. She is a certified consultant in Mississippi. Her experience includes long-term care consulting, ambulatory pharmacy practice and hospital pharmacy practice. She is also a medication reconciliation specialist for a large hospital and has a certificate in Medication Therapy Management. Kathryn has served as a facility consultant for Joint Commission compliance and is knowledgeable in Medication Management standards. Kathryn also has experience in writing policy and procedure for Joint Commission Medication Management standards.

Kathryn is a member of state and national professional organizations and her participation has been recognized through the conferring of service awards. She is a past president and past treasurer of the Mississippi Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP). She was recently elected to serve again as treasurer of MSHP. Her other professional volunteer roles include support for student focused events and previously serving on the Awards Committee for the Mississippi Pharmacists Association (MPhA).
